I think it’s an axiom just about everywhere that if you wait 20 minutes the weather will change. With no deference to the global warming cultists everywhere, weather happens everywhere, even here in Colorado.
This winter has been just like the others I’ve experienced since moving here in 2006. One day it’s below freezing, the next it’s 60+ with last week being about the same.
Due to the warm temps and Ben feeling really good, despite the chemo, we decided to take a bike ride. He hasn’t ridden since last summer, so this was a big deal for us.
We rode about a mile up to the local Wendy’s for a frosty and some father and son time. It was really nice to see him pedal up the hills with gusto, something he doesn’t do too often, especially when on chemo.
We spent about 45 minutes chatting about things, especially on the things he needs to do to become a man. We also talked a little about school and how things are going for him in life. All in all it was a great experience to spend some time with my son. He’s a great kid and I can truly say I love him and I’m proud of him!
